Atlanta's Hampton Grease Band opened then local heroes the Allmans. The Dead equipment was delayed while being thoroughly searched, i believe in New Orleans. They used the Brother's equipment to play ,so no sound board. The Sunday evening in this small round former roller derby and Rasslin' rink was unbelievable. The ending jam had Grease Band's amazing Glen Phillip's and Mike Holbrook join with the Brothers and the Dead. I remember a giant hookah with a crowd dancing in a circle around it.
Would love tapes or anything about the Atlanta scene, or just to hear from fellow travelers who were about.

I was at this show and have pctures of a beardless jerry jamming with Duanne Allman. Would love to have a tape of the show from anyone who may have one. Don't remember anything about a giant Hookah

Saw many shows at the ol' Sports Arena including Cheech and Chong (!) but missed this one. I would love to get a tape, or a file these days I guess, but I would love to be at the beach with a redhead sandwich, too, and that ain't happenin' either.

Grateful to read the stories from folks at the show. Thank you for the roller skating rink description. Paints the scene well. Cheers!
