Comments:

The jam at the end of New Potato is one of the best in this year! If you haven't checked this show out, it's filled with great classics and is mixed wonderfully.

Despite the fact that before dark star jerry proclaims that they will play until they drop, this entire show lasts just 65 minutes. Nevertheless, there is great stuff here. The Dark Star really rocks, as does The Eleven. The St. Stephen is played very fast and very brief. Death Don't is eerie as always. Second set is even more brief, though solid, as it is always great to hear new potato caboose. Who knows, maybe they did drop after new potato, what with all the drugs and what not.

Pigpen and Wier not in band in October 68-"immature behavior"
-Perrinswolf (04/11/2007)

I hear Weir on The Other One and New Potato Caboose....
-Anonymous (02/04/2012)

I hear Weir too. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that final drum solo squeezes in a nice tip of the hat to tabla maestro Alla Rhaka, Ravi Shankar's frequent accompanyist.

Bob was playing indeed, Pigpen is missing, and it's a real pity, The Other One without him sounds a tad "empty" (despite the great solos and the jamming).
-Tommaso Fonda (11/14/2016)

When people say they "hear" Weir, it's almost like they're not sure if they're imagining it or not.

BTW, Pigpen was not at this show nor the previous night because his gf was in the hospital from a stroke. Nothing to do with the firing.

I stand corrected and fall on my grateful sword
