Definitely one of my favorite Dark Stars. Not a dull moment in all 30 minutes. Check this one out
-J (07/12/2008)

Interesting show! "Seasons" is a lovely little country rarity. "Next Time You See Me" is pretty calm (!), excellent as always. And all praise be to this "Dark Star"! Search for these sounds, you'll love it!
-Dave (03/26/2009)

This is my absolute favorite Death Don't Have No Mercy. Come to think of it, the entire DS>SS>11>DDHNM is my favorite too! Absolutely pristine sound quality too. Sounds like they were going for something else at the end - anyone know?

St. Stephen>The Eleven-great Jerry prolonged vocal wale between the songs...
- (11/03/2010)

It's kinda sad to think that this cool venue like Winterland is now nothin' but condos.

As G. Harrison said, "All Things Must Pass".
- (03/11/2012)

At their primal peak as a septet, still exploratory and with a vibe we shall not see again this side of a kubrick moon landing.
-Chickie Suite (03/01/2017)

There is a distinct eyes of the world jam in this long exploratory Darkstar... 3 years before eyes existed.
And it sounds like someone Jerry knew and loved recently passed, this death dont have no mercy is chalk full of passion.
-Charlie fog (05/09/2017)

That's not a proto-Eyes. That's the so-called "Tighten Up Jam." It is based upon the song Tighten Up by Archie Bell and the Drells. Dig around. You'll hear it.

Just for clarity, @KayoFrisco, the actual Family Dog on the Great Highway* site remains just sand dunes at the base of Sutro Heights (across the street from Kellys Cove).
The condos are on the site of Playland proper, from Balboa Street south.
Trust me, I worked at the Dog.
_______
*NOTE It was "ON the Great Highway, never "AT."
