VERY tasty Dark Star!

MP3's (very crispy!) are available for Dark Star >> St. Stephen >> Eleven >> Lovelight ate GDLive, though they are misnamed as being for 2/14/70. Link: http://www.gdlive.com/dead/700214/

the organ is very prominant in some songs. sounds like a mix between a pipe organ and an organ at the ice skating rink. not bad but very differnt from 1971 and on where piano became more of a part until brent

As Hampton mentioned, my favorite part of this show is the way the organ is mixed.

Dark Star is too long for my taste, but around 18 minutes it takes off into an awesome jam, unfortunately it gets cut before the transition to St Stephen. It comes after the 1st verse. The eleven is perfect. After this show they only played it a handful more times before it was removed from the repetoire

Fantastic show to kick off one of my favorite years. Hendrix recorded BAND OF GYPSYS the two nights previous in the room and some magic was still there as if the Dead's own wasn't enough. Super-dooper MAMA TRIED, OTHER ONE, GOOD LOVIN' and DARK STAR. Nearly had one of those flashbacks they've been promising us during this DARK STAR, one of the best you'll ever hear.

This is my all time favorite show. I adore the Uncle Johns- High Time- Dire Wolf- Easy Wind, what a way to kick off a show! The Dark Star-Stephen-Eleven- Lovelight is one of the best of this combo around. Bob has some fun with Monkey & the Engineer brings a smile to my face every time. Folks will argue back and forth about THE best Dead show. For me this wins, hands down.

Dark star! Oh my god!

A top Dark Star for sure. A perfect Grateful Dead moment where you hear something you’ve never heard them do before, even after all these years of listening to them. So beautiful.
