Comments:

one of the best st. stephens ever. Are these set lists accuracte, because thats a very rare second set and a a damn long third set. It seems like classic dead though (I haven't heard it all).

set II=NRPS

This was my very first Grateful Dead concert.

One spelling correction: It is Meramec Community College in Kirkwood, Missouri. The second set was by the New Riders of the Purple Sage with Mickey Hart on drums and Jerry Garcia on Pedal Steel. As I recall, Phil Lesh was playing bass for some of the numbers. Turn on your Lovelight was out of this world!

It was one hell of a concert, and right in my hometown! I was on stage for most of it, leaning on Pigpen's Hammond organ and grooving in an eighth-grade way!

Shows like this underscore the truth in the statement that after Pigpen passed away, the Grateful Dead was never the same again. The interplay between Pig (harp) and Jer (Slide?)on Good Mornin' Little School Girl is too much for words . . . "sublime grit" is close but not quite.

So, no one has ever responded to any of these until today...I got a response and am getting the tape I have been feening for! Since I got a response it has inspired me to ask if any of my kind fellow heads have this tape. I would love a copy. Thanks for your help

My first show. Terrible sound problems during the acoustic numbers, both NRPS and Dead, but the benchmark St. Stephen/Lovelight. Workingman's Dead and American Beauty had not yet been released, so much of this was virgin territory for us.
