I heard it actually never did happen. Fairfield University had canceled a performance by the Doors a week before in order to avoid "undesirables" on the campus. Also heard that since they were playing the Filmore East, Bill Graham did not want them playing 60 miles away in Fairfield. AKA, that was his turf. Just what I have heard. Maybe the show actually did happen???
