Comments:

There is a nice Birdsong somewhere within the setlist. Deadbase has list as incomplete. Heard on radioiodead today.

I was quite awesome. The New Riders played a short set 1st, followed by the Grateful Dead. They played late until about 2am so the published set list must be incomplete. Good times.

I was there. One of the band, I think Bob, before they played "Me and Bobby McGee" said something about Janice who have passed away the previous October. Later on, Pigpen got out from behind his organ and with a mike in one hand sang "Mr Big Boss Man" - don't know why none of the set lists have that. After the show I asked Phil where Mickey was and he said "Mickey got sick in NY." A girl friend got on their bus and traveled with them for awhile, said she had a great time.

I could have sworn Jerry played steel guitar for part of the riders performance, can someone verify

I was there in my last semester Sr. Year. The New Riders played an awesome first set with Jerry on multiple songs playing peddle steel. Rural Lewisburg on a weeknight is sleepy except when dozens of Dead Heads showed up during the New Riders set and pounded on Davis Gym’s front doors to get in. The campus police relented and the crowd got much more interesting from then on. After 3 sets and an encore the campus staff turned off the power so the Dead would pack it up around 1:30 or 2 a.m. Next morning several classmates went by bus at 6 am for our Army induction physicals in Harrisburg.....quite hungover from this great New Riders and Dead show. Les Moonves was among us, playing an interesting character to dodge Army service. Who knew this concert would mirror much of the Europe ‘72 tour music and album!!! Great music and memories!
