Good Dark Star. The Dark Star is somewhat jazzy during the jam. Bill does some cool stuff with his symbols. If you want the Second Set let me know!!

-Ga - Deadhead

Once again the GA-DeadHead knew what he was talking about when he told me about this one. There are so many great versions of Dark Star but I have to say that this one wins out every single time. There is also a beautiful Bird Song here as well. Morning Dew rates quite nicely too. This is a definite winner every time. Dick's Picks 11, buy it today!!!

Agreed Agreed. This Dark Star brings me to my desired destination everytime...just beautiful stuff...and then a smooth switch into a Rockin Cumberland. damn. One of the sweetest Bird Songs ever and a picture perfect Uncle John's too! Must have.

My first dicks pick in 99 after years of listening to auds and a few sbds kicks off with morning dew just like 12 73 boston which makes billy thirst for a true warm up tune biodtl which smokes jerry plays beautiful all night bird song deal and uncle johns band his playing is inspired

I wonder what Keith is noodling around with between "Uncle John's Band" and "Casey Jones"?
- (12/03/2015)

Keith is high in the mix making this a great tape. He was soooooo superb from 1971-1978. The true golden era. So very few shows kicked off with morning dew; it was a sign that Jerry would be emotionally vested in the show. All are superb performances (i.e. 6/10/73).

Just got turned on to this thru Spotify.
My new favorite Dark Star!

-Bookkeeper (07/22/2019)

When I was 1st getting into the dead it took me a few listens to "get" some songs. Listening to this morning dew opener one morning with the sun rising was the moment I "got" that song.
-Riley (12/03/2021)

I had just finished working in Alaska for the summer of 2000 and stayed in Bellingham,WA with my girl and Adam and Melanie, they'd go shopping all the time and come home to make us dinner, meanwhile Adam and I smoked copious amounts of homegrown Washington, played hackeysack, and this was one of the best afternoons, having recently bought DP 11, we were stoned to the bone and played hackeysack the entire show, drinking, but never letting the sack fall on a mis-step, good times,Alaska, women, weed, and the good ole grateful dead!
