Comments:

this show is really excellent. the audience copy that has been circulating is of very high quality and legend has it that it was none other than owsley who recorded the show. the rarely performed "tomorrow is forever" is a real treat! pick this show up if you are a fan of vintage '72 dead!

Detroit and Michigan in general always had poorly played shows. How can this one....in 1972 in the middle of some the best music they every played (September and October 1972) not have either a Dark Star or The Other One? The second set doesn't look fun.

Detroit always had poor shows? My first show was Detroit 88 and loved it. Ann Arrbor 89 was also great especially the first night. So dont bug they played poorly in ‘Michigan”

Concerning Detroit 72. Never judge a book by its cover ahem.... I mean a show by itts seitlist. Just listened to this one and while the first set is rather ho hum. From Box of Rain on this show rocks!!! Fantastic Audience recording from that point on as well. The recording really sucks you into the show. Sugar Mag and GDTRFB>NFA>GDTRFB are partucular highlights. If u want someone to hear the energy of a GD show that never got to experience one live I would pull this one out.
Great show!
