Comments:

Fantastic pre-verse jam out on Dark Star, this is a mighty rendition that fully satisfies; almost 30 minutes long.
-Anonymous (02/24/2008)

1st set is a show in itself fer cryin' out loud! Highlights for me were Stella, Greatest and China>Rider.

2nd set ends after China Doll..the fans that made it back to the milkey way galaxy after Dark Star>Eyes>Doll were paid off handsomely..unfortunately the show ends there..ahhhhhh

Love to see the NFA>GDTRFB>NFA still in action mid 73. 71's are the best of that combo.

Looks like this a actually a three set show. I don't know what archive has, the Dead Channel is playing the show right now. So far the first set has Mexicali, TLEO, LL Rain, Box of Rain, Big RxR Blues, Jack Straw...

Will update with the rest of the set as it goes down. Real tight set so far. Gotta imagine there is gonna be a Playin'.

Alright, I amend my previous entry. This set list is way off, but here is the first set: Mexicali, TLEO,LL Rain, Box of Rain, Big RxR Blues, Jack Straw, Sugaree, BIODTL, Row Jimmy, China Cat>Rider, Around.

The second set starts with the 1/2 Step, You Aint Woman Enought, up through Bertha.

Set 1

Promised Land - Standard opener/rocker.

Loser - Good version.

Mexicali Blues - Saucy version. Dance.

They Love Each Other - Good fun.

Big Railroad Blues - Positively Tight. Very well played.

Jack Straw - Nice straw. Enjoyable.

Sugaree - Easy to like.

The Race Is On - Virgin tight.

Beat It On Down The Line - They miss the landing but a smoker of a guitar solo by Jerry!!!

China > Rider - Hard rocking Cat/standard Rider.

Around and Around - Everybody was dancing !!!!!

Set 2

Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo - A mood setter. Apted set opener.

El Paso - Workhorse. Gets it done.

Stella Blue - Getting a little better every time.

Greatest Story Ever Told - Bob in top form. Powerful vocals.

Bertha - Super groovy Phil is the star here.

Big River - Hot! I give it 10 Branding Irons !

Dark Star - Excellent riff from Phil emerges at around 6 minutes in. Everyone is jamming clean and busy. NICE! Vocals proper at 15 + minutes. Space/Gorgeousness at 20 + minutes. Mushroom friendly at 21:50. Great stuff. Along with 3/16/73 this version is my standout '73 Dark Star....so far.

Eyes of the World - Good jamming continues here. They explore a few sideroads briefly and find their way back to the theme.

Sugar Magnolia - Rocks/rolls.

One More Saturday Night - see Sugar Magnolia.

Of the 26 songs played the 21 above I would download and spin again.

21 of 26 is a grade of 80.77%

Cheers !

Dick Latvala's thoughts, from 1997:

This is not well known I believe, but it
contains one of the most exciting segments of G.D. music that I
have ever witnessed. The "Dark Star->jam->drum solo->jam-
>Dark Star->jam->Eyes of the World->China Doll" is worth
finding.
- (03/04/2020)

This show has a precursor to the famous 11/11/73 Dark Star > Eyes > China Doll sequence.
