This show is among '77 shiners. Just listen to the "Jack A Roe" on "Fallout from the Phil Zone". REAL tight!
-

My first show. A good one!
-

-

Amazing show. One of the longest first sets ever, clocking in at over an hour and a half!

-acid freak

I was there in 77' and in 95' Every time the dead played Bama They smoked the place. This was during my college days so its a little hazey but thankfully I have had a recording of this show for years and it is still one of my favorites
-AL Carlos

Fuckin -A Carlos is right....

Listen to the 2nd night in '95..best overall show in '95./././no doubt. and oh before i forget./././././Rolllll Tide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Auburn SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!)

Just like a bammer - can't even get Auburn off their minds long enough to enjoy the greatest band in music history. Truly a pitiful state of mind. Great show. I wonder if Jerry would have played West Vance had he known the elitist undertow that prevades that town to this day. I doubt it. But he gave that dreadful place a ray of sunshine coming out of Tiger that night. God speed Jer...
- (05/15/2007)

Note - notice you never saw the Dead playing Aw-Barn..Not even the greatest band in the world could draw for that cow town......where you from Cajun? Baton Rouge? figures....see you next year at the Barn...Barner..Roll Tide....

P.S. Auburn still sucks...and always will......

Heard this today on SIRIUS...now football politics aside, this show simply smokes.....a classic form Sping '77.....overlooked due to Boston, Barton Hall et. al....check this one out...stellar from beginning to end.....

I was at the 95 Bama shows and the second night was seriously very good! Jerry was having a blast, anbd that alone is enough for me to enjoy, and you know if he is happy we are happy!
I can't believe this is the first time I have listened to this show, because it ranks up there, and is another of many classics from 77!! JERRY SAVES!

Hey, I'm an Auburn fan. Not really. Who cares if I was? Comment on the show (which is one of the all-time greats), not which team you like and which one you want to flip the bird.
-The Man (02/13/2011)

Released as a part of the May '77 box set.

-80s head (07/11/2013)

Fantastic first set. Drop the Sunrise and it is just exactly perfect.
-Anonymous (09/15/2013)

Good show but why is the volume so low? I have to turn the volume all the way up on my computer to hear ANYTHING
-Anonymous (10/25/2013)

Sweet show . My favorite jack a roe for sure.

- (11/03/2015)

Intro to Fire features some sharp chords from Jerry that really do sound like a duck, no joke. Highly enjoyable Scarlet > Fire overall although not the equal of a few others from this month in my humble estimation. May 77 box sounds terrific to my ears.
-Just Exactly Perfect Band (01/06/2016)

Such a sick show, Jack-a-roe is so good but not as good as Atlanta 77.
to Cajun- Get over yourself. just because I hate auburn doesn't mean I cant jam to some dead. what is love without some hate. Roooooollllll Tide
- (10/03/2018)

Was there...20 years old. Didn't realize what a performance I was witnessing...or how temporary that scene was. Mama, mama many world's I've come since I first left home...

Every bit as good as Cornell '77...or better. 1977-78 are my personal faves.

Shout out to Row Jimmy and Atlanta 6/20/74!
