Weak second set except for bertha
-Nick

Cool show with Brent on board only 4 months. Sailor without the Saint, taper nerds love that stuff. Highly spirited Deal with Bobby vocally participating more than normal.

"On account of the weather, we are not sure if we are playing tomorrow...so listen to the radio and at 4AM we will let youknow what we are doing..."

2nd set may be short #'s wise, but still good playing with the sad soulful mid set He's Gonce>T01>Drums Wharf Rat. Truckin' and Sugar Magnolia rock respectfully.

This Shakedown smokes ass. If you don't have this you ain't livin.

nobodys fault but mine tease after truckin, Perrin confirm?
-steve (07/29/2009)

First night of this run was a concise and hot couple sets at Red Rocks, then the monsoons arrived and it was pouring when the band kicked off at the local shed (McNichols Arena).

I was surging big time as the show began and I had to find my seat. I missed by one row and encountered my buddy giving away my seat to a wandering hottie, then I tapped him on the shoulder...

Anyway, the band led by Phil doubled down on this opener, which indeed is probably among the most powerful versions of Shakedown out there.

Third night ended up at McNichols again and we were all so crisp from the first two nights, we could only hang on for dear life. Same with the band, far as I could tell.

I got a whif of Wharf Rat but great version nonetheless

Sugar Mag: Excellent Phil dominating the mix early on~a few Phil bombs are always nice. Jerry picks it up towards the end to finish off with a Bobby wail on Sunshine Daydream

Steve ,,,You Are Correct,,Sir,,(Nobodys fault but my own tease or SmokeStack Lightin').
- (01/30/2018)

This is the 4th Althea, playing it two shows in a row- twice. Finally hitting the mark with a big ending that really showcases where this song can go, and then gently parked.
Althea 1.0 the early arrangement with some different lyrics. ‘Honest to the point of innocence’
-Zippy (11/19/2018)

Jerry takes a fair amount of poetic license with the lyrics to Althea. He's Gone > Other One is smokin'. Amusing stage announcements from Bob about this show and the next night's being moved indoors due to torrential downpours on the Rocks.
-Just Exactly Perfect Band (03/29/2019)

Pretty remarkable that you could book a major arena on one night's notice like that. Really cooking Other One.
-Phil (01/09/2022)

I disagree that the 2nd set is weak. Sitting here 49 years later listening a bit short but great playing. Shakedown and Althea both super hot. They start cooking at Bertha and don't let up. I some people don't care for 79 but it has serval of my personal favorite shows both Stanly Theater and 12/26 just a couple. Next From the Vault 1 8/13/75 one of the best for sure
