Closest I ever came to a Stephen. Check out the brief St Teaser between Spanish Jam and NFA. Beautiful... and it pissed me off so much I couldn't dance the rest of the set. I still get shivers when I listen to this show.

intense lil shakedown street - remember listening to this with my boombox trippin out

Baby Blue-powerfully done by all of the boys.
-Perrinswolf (05/31/2007)

That St. Stephen teaser was real!

If I had to pick my one favorite out of all I saw between 1981 and 1990, this would be it- the music, the venue, the chemicals, all came together in maximum cosmic overdrive!
Let's just say they played the Other One twice, on the first, and third nights, and yet this middle show of the three took it deepest of all!
- (05/16/2012)

Why did they stop playing Lazy/Supplication?! The most underated combo of the Dead's!

-Mark (01/28/2015)

Bobby got bored with it.
-Anonymous (07/28/2016)

Look for the Jim Wise recording of this one, and listen to the banter just before "Shakedown."

As a taper myself, I sympathize! Haha.
-Sean (07/28/2017)

Crazy - I remember the Stephen teaser too. Summer after high school graduation. One of my favorites of all time! All we ever wanted was St. Stephen in those days.
- (03/05/2018)

Three Bobby pairings in the first set: BIODTL > Greatest Story, Mama Tried > Mexicali, and LL > Supplication.
-Just Exactly Perfect Band (05/02/2019)

Fun show. They kinda botch the big BOOM in Truckin' -- hey it happens.

Then two shows later they pay Truckin' again. Why so soon?

Because they NAIL it this time in spectacular fashion at Manor Downs in Texas. Whee!

Haven't listened to whole show yet (does look like a good one!) but had to immediately hear this Stephen tease. Maybe it's me but between Spanish Jam & NFA all I hear is a Jack Straw tease/jam. Am I missing something?

3/3 times Black Peter and Let It Grow played in the same set. last time was 11-28-80
