My first Dead show! And what a great place to see them. Outdoors, small, beautiful! A couple drops of a certain substance on my tongue made the whole thing even more amazing.

Summer solstice 1986. Spent the afternoon before the show hiking through the hills above campus. Came down to the Greek in the late afternoon. Pressed together with the crowd entering the venue overheard two people right next to me talking about people who went to high school with me 15 years earlier in the Philadelphia area. Weird synchronicity. Perfect summer night. Show was great.
