Comments:

This was an incredible show, with probably the best scarlet/fire of the spring tour. Everything was snappy, and the energy was very good. Much better than the third night, which is what's in circulation due to the radio broadcast.

Incredible? The Great Chicago Fire was sweet though

Playin tease by Jerry before he changed his mind.

First show in Chicago in 6 years! How could the Dead miss Chicago from 1981 - 1987?

This was (and still is) a godawful venue to see a concert. The Rosemont Horizon sounded like Carnegie Hall compared to this place. We were upstairs and could barely hear the show. I could feel some good energy though and what I could make out sounded good. The tapes confirm.

We saw Tull's Crest of a Knave show here later in the fall - we were downstairs and the sound still sucked.
