Comments:

My first show. They warped my fragile little 15 year old brain (them and some Blue Diamond tabs).
Still ranks as the HOTTEST Scarlet>Fire I've ever seen. Don't believe it? Get the tape.

Oh, yes...and though it might not seem all that important, the best Bucket>Sugaree opener, replete with strange animal noises from Brent's keys. Absolutely a wonderful show.

BTW...I have had 2 separate copies of this show, both of which sounded awful. If anyone has a crispety version of either set, lemme know. Thx.

I was at this one. I just remember the first 2 songs and barely the last. I OD'd on shrooms and Clowns (I had a sheet of fresh nearly wet ones I handled and licked my fingers too). I must say Od'ing on psychedelics is well worth it but wouldn't want to do again. I remember my hallucinations more than the show, but I'm sure it was a great one.

My first show and it was great. I was just 19 and had a great appreciation of music at that young age especially classic rock and was just beginning to experiment with dosing and just starting to listen to the Dead when this show hit me like a ton of bricks. They opened with Hell In A Bucket and I was really "enjoying the ride" I was shocked at what little I knew of the Dead as they happened to hit my knowledge of what I listened to on tapes and CD's right prior to that. Well it's known now that they have a knack as good music does for hitting the psychic vibe. It's hard to believe that was going on 17 years ago!

Hell in the Bucket with the Harley sound effects... Nice

Drumz->Knockin, the place was nuts, crazy, balls of energy flowing everywhere. Me and a buddy taped the rebroadcast of the second set on local public radio, in the lot at 4:00 in the morning. Would love to hear it again. Remember the railroad sounds coming out of space into GDTRFB. Great stuff
-for sure

2nd show of a 3 night stint at Brendan Byrne;
I thought the "Samson" was going to crash the roof; literally.
"Knockin" encores became so commonplace we used to leave to beat the traffic.

Middle night of this 3 night run. Standard 1st set on paper. Hey jude finale, being the 3rd one, was a treat. Watchtower to end the show....interesting. Good show.

I remember drivin out for this one from Ann Arbor, Mich, on a whim with my bro. We scored tickets in the parking lot and managed to find a nice piece of rail down low on the Phil side for the first set.
I think the first set closer, Let It Grow, reall opened me up but the Watchtower made it feel like we were in a storm and the roof was going to come off. I could see leaves blowing in circles above the stage.
My bro got so wound up he left me there to walk home.I won't forget the shows or the trip home.

BE Woman-Jerry's plucking quite impressive, not the after thought version by any means

Scarlet>Fire>Samson>Terrapin-10th of 10th time played

The Dear Mr. Fantasy gives me the chills every time I hear it. Jerry was just f'ing rippin' away and Brent was on it.
