Comments:

the best show of this 4 show run. the pre-drums section of china>rider, playin'>terrapin was well played. a rare believe it or not and a welcome quinn capped off a good show. the real scene was outside where for the first and only time, the city let us gather and stay in roosevelt park across the street from the spectrum. we camped-out there for 5 days. a 24 hour-a-day party. tee-pee's, vendors and no security! it was deadhead heaven! on the off day during the run, we went to see tangerine dream at the tower theater in upper darby. an electronic intermission in the midst of a 4 night dead run.

i loved the what i called promise land across the street from the stadium. you could score anything you needed. Quinn was a nice treat!

My first show! So amazing! The camping in the park was marvelous. I didn't realize it was a rarity at that time. Non-stop fun and happiness from beginning to end. I remember that "I Will Take You Home" was the first time in this show where I was conscious that I was a girl listening to a Grateful Dead show and not just a seamless part of the whole experience. Then I started having all of these peaceful emotions about Brent's song. Great introduction to The Dead!

Sounds like Jerry is having fun . Can hear him chuckle during Candyman don’t ease and terrapin.

... I Need a Miracle should be added before Queen Jane ....

... appreciate the play of 9/8/1988 this week on Sirius along with 9/9/1988...

The Spectrum was always a good play for the band & Philly of course, the city of brotherly & sisterly deadhead love...
Besides playing twice during the year of 1987, the year 1988 was the only to have a tour of 4 shows...

tyedye in heaven...

I Will Take You Home is such an anomaly in the GD catalog. Objectively it's a beautiful song, a sweet and touching song from a father to his baby daughter. It just felt out of place at a Dead show. And now when I hear it, it just makes me sad for Brent's daughter losing her father. I hope she's ok.

Hey it can be as touching as it wants, but a bad song is a bad song
