The 2nd set was an absolute monster. THE VERY BEST, #1 Uncle Johns Band I've ever seen, and I went to 220+ shows. After Drums was an absolutely astonishing take on what is now known as Handsome Cabin Boy Jam, but back then it was referred to as Jerry's Irish Space, I actually thought at the time it was an old Irish Sea Chanty.

the jam after uncle john's band was one for the ages! the handsome cabin boy jam was the second of three played, all at the spectrum!

4th row this night between phil bobby,so jerry was lookin my way all night.I thought that thing before morning dew was medevil horns or something when the horns have big flags hanging on them.My best seat ever up till then, and some guy kept sitting in it. I finely grabed him by the neck and threw him into aisle, after that jerry was giving me the hairy eyeball all night or maybe he was lookin at the chick I had with me back then super hot italian beth you out there somewhere good show except for seat raiders

Since my wife and I had enjoyed the Dead/Dylan show at JFK in '87 so much, I wanted to take her to to another GD show. I remember the band opening with Mississippi Half Step and then the 'cigarette' I was smoking kicked in. Great show watching Jerry.
Didn't make to the end of the first set because my wife started complaining that it was "too smokey" in the Spectrum.
(Should have giver her the keys to my truck and told her that I was staying.) What a buzzkill! We were divorced within the next year and my love for the Grateful Dead has grown exponentially. : )
