Comments:

What I remember about this show was it was terrible. It seemed like the band was fumbling around adjusting to their new member (Vince had just started). The space was incredibly dissonant, and well, everyone in the band seemed to be playing the basics so Vince could catch up.

For the encore (sat nite) they just ignored him and went full speed ahead.

It'd be nice to hear this tape to see how it compares to my memory.

Agreed on all fronts... EXCEPT... there was an INCREDIBLE Not Fade Away. These were among the few shows with Vince and Bruce Hornsby playing together. I guess I'm just a sucker for any Grateful Dead keyboardist that plays an accoustic piano, and Hornsby had the big grand piano on stage. Jerry and Hornsby dueled it out during Not Fade Away in a friendly manner, and I thought Hornsby was going to get knocked off his piano bench by a few of the chords. OK.

Never got to hear the second set. I was ejected from the Garden for smoking herb during "The Weight". At least Garden security gave me back my stash.

Playin'>Crazy Fingers>UJB-Last of 6 times this combo was performed.

Does anyone remember how Jerry and Brent traded chords during the 7/4/89 Rich Stadium show(on dvd)?

Gimmie Some Lovin was a Brent song through and through as far as I'm concerned.

this show is amazing, the energy from hornsby can be heard on the recording of this, get it now before its gone, msg shows were just released so these shows will be pulled off the archive soon im sure.

nevermind, this show should be fine, they only released parts of the 18th, 19th and 20th so the archive should only be removing those

Glen,
I'm not sure what your idea of "few" is but Hornsby was essentially a full time member from late '90 until March of '92.
He missed OCCASIONAL shows during that period but he was there much more often than not.

Anyway this whole run was fantastic as were the MSG and Boston Garden runs in '91.
